HoM question
If your adding Weapons to your Hom, does it matter if you mod them up or not?
You cant see any mods on them in the display. Should we bother modding them up and customizing them, or just add the weapon, and we will have to remod them on the other side. Also, same thing for the Armor, should we add runes and insignias, and get it infused? Or are we going to loose the infused going into GW2? |

The weapons in your hall show up as "destroyer staff" or "destroyer shield" without even saying what kind they are, and modding them doesn't change that. I assume that means it's irrelevant if you mod them or not. Same with the armor. If you're just putting it in your hom and not using it, don't bother infusing/modding it.

To be honest, we don't even know how our Destroyer weapons and Elite armors are going to be brought into GW2. If you're going to use the weapons, go ahead and mod them, then display them. Here's a question, did you buy the weapons and armor just so you could put them up in your HoM?

my thoughts
remember, HoM doesnt transfer anything to GW2. It will confer something but no one knows for sure, but it can be assumed that you will not be getting anything that has any advantage over any other players in GW2.
They have stated that many times, that what ever you get in GW2 from HoM will not put you above any other players in GW2. i would assume that most likely you will be getting unique skins, titles, minis or something not directly tied to gameplay. |

HoM only displays your weapons and armor. It doesn't hold anything, nor transfer anything to GW2. Regardless of the rewards you'll get from the HoM in GW2(which we still don't know), the stats from your current weapons and armor put on display do not matter.

And I think the weapons are automatically customized if you put them in your HoM

Your HoM isn't a bookshelf where you just store things. After you add the weapon to your HoM you can either use it, mod it and give it to a hero, or merch it. It will still be shown in your HoM even after you delete it.

Right now, nothing is known about the benefits (if any) the items in HoM will have in GWII.
It would be pure speculation if we told you either way that runes/insignias/mods/inscriptions on the items you add to your HoM will make any difference in GWII as well. |

And, after GW2 does come out, you can then add or change whatever mods/upgrades make a difference - if any. In fact, since GW1 will still be active after GW2 comes out, you can wait until then to put anything into your HoM.
But, as has been pointed out, the most you can hope for in GW2 is that you can take someone into your HoM and show them what your ancestor (your GW1 character) accomplished and possibly get some skins on GW2 weapons, which no-one will want because they'll want the new GW2 skins anyway. Also, consider this. GW2 is supposed to have much higher levels than GW1. It's most likely therefore, that weapons and armor in GW2 would have much higher levels than GW1 too. So, even if you could use your destroyer weapons in GW2, they would basically only be "starter" weapons. Last edited by Quaker; May 15, 2008 at 04:39 PM // 16:39.. |
